About

This website is intended to collect my academic thoughts, writings, and other projects and to share resources with students, colleagues, church members, and the occasional internet sleuth. My goal is the rigorous, lifelong study of the Christian Scriptures in the classroom, in order especially to bring to light the Old Testament for Christians today. I have lived in Jerusalem, excavated in Galilee, toured Egypt, and mused the ancient artifacts of Paris, London, and Rome. I have shared in scholarly communities at Tyndale House, Cambridge; the Lanier Theological Library, Houston; and my academic home, the Evangelische Theologische Faculteit, Leuven. In 2026 I began teaching adjunct at Houston Christian University. My doctoral focus is on the application of historical linguistics to the composition and transmission history of the Old Testament and on the interpretation of this evidence from a doctrinal perspective (a “crossover” project between biblical and theological studies). I have twelve years’ experience in Bible exposition, ten years in business, three years in published editing, and the immersive experience of having studied the Bible in the land of the Bible. I currently live with my family in Houston, Texas.
